The Bathroom Diaries
I’ve spoken about unusual design before and this also fits the?bill quite nicely.? The Bathroom Diaries is a website that features over 12,000 restrooms around the world.? They guide travelers towards?safe?and clean public facilities — in other words, where to go when you have to go.
But for our purposes, I’m focusing on their Golden Plunger Awards.? These are the facilities voted to?have the most beautiful interior design.? (On the page, they are asking for 2007 award submissions so I think those who have already won can keep their title indefinitely, LOL!)??Here are a couple of pics:
There are?bathrooms with real gold toilets (uhm, oh-kaay) and also bathrooms?featuring SmartGlass (right).? If you’d like to see the SmartGlass in action, click on this You Tube video link.? I could still somewhat see her so I’m a bit undersold — but the concept is cool!
One of the award winners I didn’t post a pic on were the washrooms at?The John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.? I’d rather you click on the link so?you can see their facilities?list and the individual photographs of?each area — wow!? The Bathroom Diaries site was created in February 2000 and features restrooms in over 120 countries.? I did check my local area and it does look current.??I hope you’ve enjoyed this latest foray into unusual design!

Interesting post! Don’t know if you are a member of MuralsPlus (for faux finishers, etc)…. but some guy showed toilets that he just gold leafed! Talk about potties fit for a king! Blessings,

I just did a bathroom where they put smart glass. I think the bathroom should be the most beautiful room. A bathtub full of scented water is so relaxing..and the walls and ceiling need to be eye candy. But then isn’t some of this just really decadent? Also over at art fusion check out kathy wear’s pretty potties.
