We’ve Been Stripping…
No, not that kind of stripping!? Paint stripping — or more specifically, mirror stripping.? We’ve been very blessed to have been chosen to not only faux part of the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Asheville, NC but to also do the antique mirror work?for a few?guest areas.? We’ve already been hard at work on the mirrors?in our studio and at the end of next week, we start the trip from Orlando, FL?to NC to begin the faux work.? So far, we’ve been working almost non-stop to make our deadlines but I do look forward to seeing all the work completed and installed.
For the mirrors, we’ve been making samples and testing various?patina finishes?for a few months.? The biggest mirrors we have coming up?are 3 pieces that are each almost 5′ x 10′.? Here’s some images to tease you.
Testing, testing and more testing.? The strive for perfection?never ends…
Watching the backing melt away…
Did you like the quick peek??
P.S. Bad News? ?I won’t be posting again until Friday.? Good News?? It’ll be the newest profile on the Portrait of an Artist series.? Can’t wait!
