Flower Power

April 28, 2009 5 Comments by Regina

Luscious Spring!? Today, we are looking at beautiful pictures that incorporate flowers into design schemes.? What better time of year to post this?than now?? The sun is shining, the greenery is coming out, there’s a fresh scent in the air, gorgeous flowers are bloo….wait, is that a bee?!?? Hmph.? Well, let’s all leave?Mr. Bee?to pollinate in peace as we move on to see some pretty interiors.

On the left is one of my perennial faves –?a handpainted mural done by Sheri Hoeger.? On the?right is a pic which I believe was for an ad — love the fun treatment on the brick.

I believe these two?have wallpaper, although they can be achieved with paint.??BTW, the majority of today’s pics?are from my morgue file and so if you know where they are from, by all means…

For years, I thought the entire wall on the?left had the tulip mural but I recently noticed it is a canvas.? Don’t know how I missed that but I still do love it so.? On the right, a simple flower variation but striking nonetheless.? It’s from The Rohm and Haas Paint Quality Institute and was featured in the ASID Icon magazine.

A designer saw the pic on the left and asked me to paint it in one of her baths.? It was a lot of fun…and time consuming!? I wish I had existing pics of it.? On the right, is another unusual variation of the flower theme which was featured in Benjamin Moore’s Ensemble magazine.

I leave you with this pic, photographed by Thomas Loof.? It?makes me feel happy.? Hope you have a great day!

Renee — I’m there with ya on the airbrushing. When Ms. Hoeger pairs that with her stencils: magic!
