It can be a challenge to pen a blog. You want to be informative, hope your personality entertains and there’s the need to always keep a finger on the pulse of your subject. I’ve written some posts that I thought were sure winners with cool information and then… Crickets! Others I’ve thought “Geez, did I phone it in with that one?” and I get comments galore. (shaking my head) I still haven’t yet figured out what will definitively strike a chord but maybe I’m not meant to over-analyze it. I’m thinking my directive is to just continue putting my heart into my words and information and hope that it resonates with you, dear Reader.
To this end, I thought about what posts individual bloggers have written that they felt were their favories. It might not have generated any comments, it might have burned brightly for a day and then slowly dimmed after a new post went up or it might be the blog’s superstar entry. I asked all of my fellow Meet the Bloggers! members to let me know which post they’ve written that was nearest and dearest. I also want to introduce you to the bloggers who chose to participate — some you’ve met before. So, in blog ABC order:
Blogger: Carla J. Schuchman
Blog: ArtSong
About ArtSong: It doesn’t fit into the “artist” thing I know, but it is who I am and why I do what I do. It’s a product of everything I believe and hold true. See, for me I can do nothing without Him, and I am just because He is. For me, He must come first, then the art, the creativeness flows from me with no struggle.
The Which & Why of My Favorite Post: My favorite blog is really this one A Message from God along with Love Note. It’s about an artist’s journey. The works, the worries and the victories! And it’s all about Him!

Blog: Design Inspiration
About Design Inspiration: My blog is mainly about stencilling and chronicles the more photogenic interests in the lives of the artists at the Stencil Library.
The Which & Why of My Favorite Post: Life’s Not All Lavender and Roses, Sometimes There is Elderflower is my favourite of the blog entries that I’ve written so far. It is rather English and eccentric and brings back warm memories.

Blogger: Lynne Rutter
Blog: the Ornamentalist
About the Ornamentalist: It’s “about” ornament and mural painting, not just about my work, but about where I get my designs – the things that inspire and inform my work.
The Which & Why of My Favorite Post: My favorite blog entry is in general, the most recent one as I tend to write about whatever my current obsession is, such as “Arabesque” ornament but I get a lot of emails about the entry “Good Photography for Decorative Painters” which was channeled from a common rant I go on about how crappy photography ruins your career. And what are blogs for if not for ranting, eh?

Blogger: Lucinda Henry
Blog: Shakti Space Designs
About Shakti Space Designs: My blog is all about decorative painting written to educate our industry’s target audience so they are informed and knowledgeable about products, resources and new techniques.
The Which & Why of My Favorite Post: It was hard to pick just one. Not that I think I’m that fabulous, but I have so many favorite projects that I want to tell the world about them over and over. I guess I’ve seen other bloggers do it – repost or rewrite another story. So I might just do that. But for now here is my selection: Contemporary Fireplaces

Blog: Spinach Tiger
About Spinach Tiger: A faux artist by trade, my kitchen is a second studio, creating dishes beautiful to look at, delicious to eat, often styled on my hand painted art work.
The Which & Why of My Favorite Post: I have picked Our Favorite Food Eaten in Italy. I picked this because my trip to Italy in 2007 was a major food inspiration for me. Italian food is art to me, art that hits all the senses. I didn’t cook any of the food on this post, (only ate them) but I linked several Italian inspired dishes. I have already posted one dish that I was able to come home and duplicate. It’s a great example that creativity may be personal, but we don’t own it. It’s clear to me that creativity comes from our creator. We borrow it, we expand it, we are influenced by it, but we can really only PARTICIPATE in the process.

As for me? Has to be The Colors of Guatemala — back in February 2008. One thing I would change about that post is the crediting of the photographs I found but otherwise, it’s a tribute to my mother’s country and my memory of it. I’ll be seeing you!
Nice list. Thanks. Gonna read each of them. :)
Thanks so much. It is fun reading everyones blog post!
Love love love you blog!
Thank you! It was my pleasure, Carla! :)
