In the Pink

Thought I’d showcase the color Pink this month — some have problems visualizing this color in their home but done well, it can add a warm and vivacious feel.  We have a lot of pics to go through so make sure you have on your seatbelt before we take off….here we go!

Wallpaper & Base Paint: (Top Right) The fabric wallpaper is part of Brussel’s Royal Park Theatre, photographed by Hans Fonk and is featured in the magazine, Objekt.  (Top Left & Bottom Center) Both base paint pics are both from Elle Decor.

Decorative Painting & Plasters: (Counterclockwise from Top Center) The first two pics feature natural clay plaster finishes in two separate Dining Rooms profiled in Phoenix Home & Garden, the third is a home featured in Elle Decor whose handpainted walls were inspired by vintage saris and last but not least, deep pink natural plaster walls as found in the offices of Escobedo Construction and featured in Objekt.

Design Elements: Fabrics featured in this month’s Architectural Digest are from Lee Jofa (Left) and Pollack Associates (Right).

Exteriors: (Top Left) An exterior as photographed by Steven Brooke for the Casa Florida book, (Top Right) Budget Travel magazine photo of the Old Bridge over Argentina’s Areco River and the Bottom Center pic is of a hilltop mansion in the Greek Island of Corfu.  (Not sure where I got the pic.)

I think Lulu recently did two nice posts on Pink with her Color Spotlight: Strawbery and pink & blu.  The Lulu Wanderlust blog is maintained by Alicia “Lulu” Danzig of Lulu Painting — I think it’s fun and bubbly.  (…and the world seems that much sunnier having a friend named Lulu, no?)  I hope you’ve enjoyed being In the Pink!

  1. Love these pinks!!!! You show how this great color can go from totally fun and spirited to sophisticated. Pink is very flattering to skin tones too!!! All the more reason to surround yourself with it.

well aren’t you just the sweetest thing!! What a lovely way to start my day. Pink is a color of elegance, femininity, and flare but always some how seems to have a little flirty nature to it, no matter the hue! Thank you world for having such a fun-easy going color from blush to hot that can still allow us to have great style and decor without loosing a giddy sense playfulness!
