Bookkeeping

July 29, 2009 2 Comments by Regina

I love words.? They are bendable, amusing and the right combination can allow a mere sentence to touch someone’s heart.? Which is why when beautiful words are put together for a common goal — well, that would be my definition of a book.? Can any space be perfect without their addition?? Which is why when amazing books are put together for a common goal — well, that would be my definition of a library.? I’ve decided to just throw in a few spaces that elicited sighs of contentment from me.? See if you agree.

Serious Amount of Books. Super Nice Height. Decorative Painting and Trimwork on Ceiling. What’s not to love? (Below, Unknown Source)

Gorgeous color in an inviting room (Below, Unknown Source).

(Below, Left) Nigella Lawson was featured in the now-defunct House & Garden way back in 2004.? The photograph of her in the study (shot by the great James Merrell) would be what I would be like — if I had that particular space, of course.? Mine is about 1,000 times smaller.? I also like the messiness of the one on the Right.? What can I say?? I’m an everything-not-always-in-it’s-place-but-still-sorta-neat kinda girl. :)

(Below) This is a living room featured in Elle Decor and designed by architect Andrew Lister. Love the idea of a modern study with the windows open to nature. Plus, I can’t resist that ladder to reach all the books.? I would swirl around and possibly break into song. Ah, did I write that out loud?

Books-and-Glass

In the era of Kindle, I wonder if libraries will still be a valid necessity a hundred or more years from now.? I hope so — but imagine if only the most amazing will be preserved as museums and the books behind glass!? Maybe I’m letting my imagination get ahead of itself, lol — I hope you have a wonderful day!

My hearts desire is books..and more books, really more magazines than books though. With downsizing that was one of the hardest things to let go of. I managed to go threw them and tear out those I just couldn’t do without. Now to organize those.
If I had a library like those I wouldn’t ever get anything done. lolol

yeah, you did say breaking out in a song on that ladder. Remember My Fair Lady? Well without the song part. I can see you doing that.

I am such a pack rat its amazing how I still can get things piled up like a discombobulated library, well but without the wonders of the shelves. In this case, it’s on tables, chairs, sofas an every nook and cranny in my house. I do have 2 bookshelves, which are plain canvases, and wish to start work on the. It’s so inspiring to be in here, reading of all the amazing works. BLISS!!!
