Tie-Dye
You know how interior design usually follows fashion in terms of color and direction? ? So, I’ve noticed something. Even though at work I can be found covered in paint with the hair somewhat of a mess, I do love fashion.? Shoes, dresses, hand-crafted jewelry, scarves, purses, makeup — the perks of being a girl!? But, I digress.? Basically, Proenza Schouler (left) debuted a tie dye line in their Spring 2010 collection.? Blumarine (right) also had some tie-dye options.? Sigh. Loving the dresses, such pretty colors, the perfect drape and the details…
Ahem.? The matter at hand.? I then remembered I did a post on Maya Romanoff a bit ago, which featured a 40th anniversary collection of tie-dye wallpapers.? I found two new images of his papers in situ and I do think it shows a beautiful way to incorporate the look.? Here are the images:
Striking, yes?? So, while nooooooooooo, I don’t think tie-dye is going to take interior design by storm — I do think it’s a call to arms to look at something you might think has a specific audience and put a lovely, unexpected spin on it for everyone.? I tried and tried but did not find extraordinary images of faux finishes with tie-dye.? Anyone care to share?
UPDATE 6/04/10: Wanted to add this beautiful blog post on Tie-Dye I found over at Style Court.

Wow, that Maya Romanoff first photo is killer! I had seen the second one, but not the first….almost kaleidoscopic with the angles of the walls….do not know of any faux finishes either, but this post proves design is timeless.

Regina,
I do know of a tie dye faux finish.
It is a different color way of my “Fossil” finish in my RS Class.
I will send you a pic if you like.
It was done by Jamie Funkhouser in class about 3 or 4 years ago…..
